the Phoenix raises out of words...

Currently, i am Obsessed with DannyChicken Momos, Sleeping, Panchaali and Manu samhita lately... Lolzzz.. i have been asked asked to list down 5 of my obsessions by Phoenix and this is d eternal list.. :-D

i am lurking in blogsville since July 07... my initial blog page isn't public anymore.. and i have so much crap lying there waiting to see daylights... i get blog ideas at most odd times including while on bed watching TV, while riding the elevator, while sitting on the commode etc... i instantly store the keyword in my mobile drafts section (that's outbox for the uninitiated).. i once tot of doing a post a day routine for a yr... but lot many obstacles came over to disrupt that... neva mind.. i am still here..

i am a BIG foodie... ppl have strong mis-conceptions given my near zero size figure but thats becoz of something else.. i eat everything that i fancy... ranging from tasteless bland diet food to baby formula to exotic meat to fattening potatoes and cheese.... if thats edible it goes inside me...  my colleagues tease me for being on an eternal diet and recommend taking my diet plan to my buddy M...M sums it all in not so many words, "if i take her diet chart, i'll end up being double the size wat i am now!" :-P

any and every form of it... i just shimmy around at my place.. had started learning Bharatnatyam as early as age 8... learning forms of western for past one year.. i love hip-hoping the Best... wud love to learn Tap dancing especially after seeing a contestant of "So u think u can Dance" go tapping arnd to the beats of "Way I are" - Timbaland... Man we did freestyle Jazz on that.. i never tot Tap dancing on it..

anything that printed on a paper and is bound by a cover qualifies as a book for me.. hating a Genre doesn't stop me from reading it.. i reserve my comments till i finish it... same goes for movies and my foodie habit... i still remember d first book my Papa got for me... now i have a huge collection.. i realised this while shifting house last month... every surface was filled with books and while unpacking i dound books stashed away by me at unlikely places.. a book tot long lost emerged from my utensils carton.. :-P

i know i have a long way to go... but watever i do, i just love 'em all... somehow learning the techniques from someone else feels fake.. to me clicking is mainly wat ur heart thinks... i have been known to click pics using my Dad's Point n shoot during my chilhood.. the results are a treasure which my father denies to share with me.. and i don't share with him , wat i  click now-a-days.. Tit for tat u see :-P

The Rat...

Love is...

Life was fun since Megha rejoined her dance classes...
Tarun, her master was a cool guy who wanted to see everyone happy... even though most of her fellow batch mates were much younger to her, she was accepted by them... they made it a point to include her in everything...Chetan was the shy guy of the class… He smiled at her sometimes, but both stopped at that... neither of them attempted even to small talk... it was so obvious to others except them that they liked each other...
It was a Saturday and Tarun wanted everyone to have fun... he paired everyone to do Salsa dumping his regular routine... When he came to Megha, he smiled mischievously and shouted “Chetan, Lead Megha...."
Both of them were flustered... Megha was lost for words and Chetan was asking again & again "Can't i take Aayusi instead??"
The music was flowing and Megha was shivering when Chetan asked for her hand... Her nervousness made him strong and he said "Just look into my eyes and follow me... be cool, it will be alright..." To her, it was the difficult part, looking into his eyes... she squirmed when he held her waist and twirled her all around him... she just couldn’t manage when he insisted her to place her hands over his shoulders and let them rest on his elbows... She was so embarrassed that she, a trained dancer, couldn't execute a single step... Her Grace and composure just flew out of the window...  It was all apologies and funny smiles that passed btw them...
They started to look forward to Saturdays, even though they hardly met eye to eye on other days... the clumsy pair of the class was perfecting themselves and Tarun made sure they were not disturbed by others... he loved this couple...  They hardly talked... they were contended with the smiles and holdings... long looks and sly smiles were their only communication...
It was a Sunday, their off day when her vehicle stalled suddenly… there wasnt a soul nearby but u can’t expect anyone at 11 in the night… Megha had no clue how to repair a stalled vehicle and was getting miffed with time... Just as fate would choose, Chetan crossed her...
"Hey... What happened?"
"Erm... Hey... no idea… it stalled suddenly..."
Chetan sheepishly, "I have no clue about your model... Lemme walk you till your place..."
They walked in silence till her place.... she was cussing all way in her mind not to touch this vehicle again... he was distant all thru the walk...
"Ok... Thanks… bye for the company, Chetan..."
"Mmmmm... Megha... Do u like Devil’s Own or Kaapi Nirvana", Chetan grinned widely..
Several coffees and dinners later he proposed and she accepted...
Twelve years since their first dance.. they still Salsa every Saturday and true to that nite she never touched that vehicle again...
He never let her....

Well.... it was mixed.....

it was my first Diwali @ North India... Since last year i made it a point to travel back home during diwali.. Last  year was a riot with me planning to go home at the last moment and taking a train, bus, taxi, a Lorry and finally a auto to reach home, wr this happened to me :(... I was sort of looking forward this year... First surprise was on Dantheras, 2 days before Diwali.. R took me to d class Pooja... Tarun obviously didnt expect me and it was a surprise to him.. we did aarthi and had huge fun as none of us knew how to do a pooja... rite from me drawing the Swasthik the wrong way to R playing Hanuman chalisa during Laxmi pooja, we did all sorts of goof ups...
Mom called up and i felt very nostalgic...Missed home :'(  VB called up and we made a spontaneous plan of hitting the road... Both in our pjs were driving around the city when VB took himself as my self appointed guide and have me a quickie about Indore city.. it was midnight and we hit the local Food Bazar aka Chowpati, SARAFA... several gulab jamuns, aloo tikkis, Dahi vadas, Garadus & Rose-milk Milk shakes later, we found it fit to return home....

So obviously Diwali morning found me still sleeping... This happ and then R took me to class... Pooja was already over, but i got to meet Tarun's family... it was a riot with Tarun's mom urging us to show her how to dance(she is an awesome Kathak Dancer, in btw).. we danced a bit and patakas were cracked :-P  But d ultimatum was i COULDN'T Sleep a wink.. all my neighbors found it fit to fire crackers late it into nite... i Like it NOT... one another wacko actually tot a brilliant idea of pooling all his crackers into a big box and fire it.. it continued bursting for an hour, and my migraine peeked into Mt.Everests and Mt.Etnas.. i actually ran out and shouted at my dear neighbor for giving me this third degree treatment... Heck... i finally went to sleep by 3 or 4 am... @#$%&^

Padwa went fine with me curling up with Swati Kaushal's "A Girl Like Me"... Mr.Beans it was in the evening .. Hot chocolate, Grand Latte and conversations on a wooden sofa under a neem tree with light breeze and twilight bulbs... Heaven.... ;-)

Wake up with a call from Wookie's Mom on Bhaiyya-Dhuj.. Went over for lunch... the Heavy meal made me sleep.. went for Fashion, d movie at around 10 pm... it was irritating back home at 1 am, with my stomach rumbling and me not able to find a single morsel of anything edible even after through-n-through  rummage of my stuff.. had a troubled sleep :-( .. me gonna stock up on junk food today evening.. ouch thinking again i will be busy today evening.. Wookie is leaving tomm u c... he he he he he

a collage of my mixed diwali... hope it captures all..and no there's no wookie picture of in there... ha ha ha

Thanks Viswakarma...

Thanks Viswa karma, whoever u are.. Wat u did so that your birthday is being declared as a State Holiday will remain a mistery to me... googling didnt provide much information abt you.. but heartfelt thanks for a leave in the middle of week...

Me and my independence day...

scurrying along the routine tunnel of daily work, i stop to look at the Flag post erected for the celebration tommorrow... i smile on the various memories linked to Independence Day, most of them not so patriotic...

Tomm is d day responsible for my never dying love for Motichur Laddu's.. I was in my kindergarten then... mom rushed me and my bro to school real early than the usual... d naughty hyperactive kid i was, i kept fidgeting thru the whole ceremony... my caretaker at school assuaged me with a Laddu... i ended up eating 5 more by the end of the ceremony... We were in Kanpur then.. till date Laddu's remind me of Indepence day & Kanpur and vice versa... ( i still pester ppl who visit Kanpur to get me a pack of Motichur Laddu's.. Of all the things..)

Then later during my school days, i looked forward towards Independence and Republic day, as i got to wear Starch white, crisp uniforms and ribbons... i enjoyed the march past, d pride in my parent's face when i hoarded lot many academic awards and things alike....

Roughly in my Std 7th we were taught a Patriotic song written by our school Music Teacher... It started with "Gunge Gagan Mein, Mehke Pawan mein..." Till date thats d only song i remember from my school days.. I can also sing that without altering the tune.. aww, believe me...

I also learnt Bamboo Dancing for Independence day celebrations once... we started practising months ahead hurting our ankles and the hands of the guys banging the Bamboo's together... It was a greatest moment for all us kids, when we performed the dance before the whole school and our parents... the envious stares we got from the girls not selected for the performance and praise from close friends made up our day...

sometime later, Independence day got related to Reruns of so called patriotic movies like Roja, Border etc, to hard earned off from college, to relaxed dinners consisting of Tiranga Cocktail's and Tricolor Triple ripple ice-creams....

Now.. Aug 15th is one of those hard to get 7 yearly holidays of mine... last year we ended up going on a company picnic... haven't planned anything for tomm yet, but certainly won't have tricolored flag hoisting or sweet distributions.... But i 'll certainly buy a flag from that roadside vendor who magically appears around this year...

Vande Mataram... or shud that be Jai Hind...
