Now it has a title!

So apparently there are folks out there who are angry and dejected that i dont visit their blogs... to quote "someone"

ahem ahem!! but, tch tch tch, I do read all your blogs, you , you and even you... but the only issue is I read them on my Google Reader and the lazy ass I am, never bother to click on individual posts to comment on the post.   oh well... that sounded super snooty... :D 


anyhow... So,  apparently I have been awarded with *wait for it....* *and drum rolls please* The Versatile Blogger award.. thank you , thank you... unfortunately I don't have a pet chihuhuhuhuhuhua to thank for supporting me to get this award. Oh well...

Ok so lets get on with it!

1. I read a lot... A lot means a loooooooooooot... every morning I wake up to an overflowing Google reader and after reading them, I read the articles in the explore section. When that is over, I search for certain keywords I am working on that day and read them.. I also refresh my GReader multiple times a day... Then i click on every damn link shared on tweeter. Then is the offline reading. As of now, I am reading Chanakya's Chant by Ashwin Sanghvi. Then I am reading three different types of manuscripts for my research. And finally, four reference books for my photography. Phew... :P

2. I space out quite easily. When I am out with friends and others are talking about topic that least concerns me, I zone out pretty easily. Duh! What am I saying?? There are times when I have zoned out even while getting specific instructions from clients and ask them to send it over in an email :D

3. I am a creature of habits.. To me there is a routine set in everyday.. I brush after bath, often combining it with a mental checklist of to-do things of the day. The keys go into a certain pocket. I pack my laptop after packing my lunch and before checking on the things I carry daily. If even a single step goes wrong, it will be mad dash in the evening. I won't remember where I left the keys and you will witness me doing a baboon dance rummaging my butt searching for the keys.. umm the back pockets of the jean, I mean.. So you get the drift?? No? Well dammit! :P

4. I love babies until someone else is holding.. I can make babies smile, play with them, baby talk to them.. but only till someone else holds it.. If given to me, probably I'll freak out.. Dunno.. Never tried.. :-P

NOW!! wait-a-nimit!!! why does this oddly feel like a tag.. Gils, u tricked me eh!! dammit!! oh well, I ll revert to one line answers then :D

5. I love eating raw mangoes, half ripe guavas and half ripe papaya with salt and chili powder.. Mom makes the sour expression instead of me whenever I eat such stuff in her presence :D

6. As much as I love clicking, I am not comfortable with others clicking me. There are only a handful of people I am comfortable posing for. (and that list is fast depleting :( )

7. I suck at writing blog posts... just imagine. Gils gave me this award on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 (copy pasted from his blog :P) and I was writing writing writing it till today :| meh!! Lazy eh! I like to call myself super busy :D

Random Rat...

The mighty mighty CB tagged me... ahem... :( shylu forgive me but your tag was bit too much revealing to take up.. sorry... will do ur next tag, that is if it aint that complicated. :P

and yes the tag... apparently i have to reveal some 7 random things about me... err as if i hadn't flashed enough on this blog over the last 2 years, or is it more than that.. god knows... yeah the mighty 7... here we go..

 Monday : While crossing the road, I actually notice the tire of the approaching vehicle than the driver... my brain goes into a frenzied calculation of t = v/a ,  v = u + at and such formulas and calculate the speed of approach to cross the road accordingly... believe me i have faired well so far...

Tuesday :  I order only my regulars at CCD and Fruit shop @ Greams road... i experiment at all places but rarely at these two... eight months of regularity earns me special place at both these places :P *the waiter reminded me of the price fall on my regulars today at CCD.. man i was thrilled when the boy remembered to tell me*


Wednesday :  Dunno why but my life and tastes are closely related to Rat or being a Rat.. i love all things that a Rat would love... Cheese, Vadai, Dingy spaces, small hole in the name of house, sleeping on well padded surface i.e. on freshly washed unfolded clothes etc etc.. you name it, i got it..

Thursday :  i love cooking for others.. but i rarely eat what i cook though i may be hungry like an elephant or ermm a Rat.. may be the smells that rise while cooking kills my appetite.. mind you i cook well, my sister is still alive as a testimony to my cooking skills... :D

Friday : Yippee!! Weekend is here :P I have visited a beauty salon for a total of three times only in my life so far.. 2008, 2009 and 2010... first was a laugh riot.. i was standing at the door contemplating the visit, when the lady in charge of the place invited me in for a lemonade.. i blew my money off over a hair cut, hair straighten, manicure, pedicure and a massage.. heavenly!! Second was on my 23rd birthday and third for a hair cut..

Saturday : I collect Paper Tissues... no not the artsy one's... whenever i go out to a restaurant, i make it a point to take a tissue, write the date, names of people who are present and such details... i have a whole box of such papers...

Sunday :  I love Indian and Greek Mythology... its another story that i don't believe them but it is fun reading them and correlating them.. i can blabber on some obscure story, you probably would have no clue about.. i ll even so you the story source and stuff..

Last week Phoenix awarded me with this...

 Seems i have to reveal some 10 cute things abt me... ummm.. 10 evil things that i can spew out without hesitation but cute tings.. umm lemme think... Seriously speaking , why i avoided the award so far was this reason.. i simply cant think 10 good/cute things abt me... i am trying ok, i am trying..  Lemme start..

1. Ppl say my voice sounds sweet over the phone.. the sweetness stops there.. they cant connect with me in reality.. my voice turns hag-like.. have to blame Alexander Graham Bell, i think!
2. I like being organized with my work stuff.. ok lemme face it.. i am heavily organized.. i file things, tab them, maintain a hard copy , several soft copies, and cross tab them in a different location.. but with house hold objects, though i remember where i have kept my things, i am not that clean and organized...
3. all my daily wear Tees are of a single style... i cant think of wearing or dressing up except for parties...i dunno if thats a cute thing, but it sure helps ppl to identify me in crowd.. a round necked, short sleeved Tee in pastel shades with a Quirky line on the front... most of the lines spew sarcasm to the "T"..
   
4. Imspite of being a Total tom boy, i love my nails.. i pamper them with manicures and treatments.. i sit most weekends to file and shape them before sleep... i love trying new nail paints and colors on them.. phew... :-D
5. I love making people smile.. not just friends but random ppl too.. how and why that depends on the situation... :-)
6. Yaar Phoenix this is too lengthy and tiresome.. y cant u make me rite some evil things abt me.. Ok.. i am a Workaholic.. i go all d way to finish a job taken up by me.. and i dont rest/ eat before i finish it off or meet the deadline...
7. i keep on saying some fundas and pretty std at them... like " every nite i die, only to be reborn at d dawn", " Hope is the only thing that keeps me going" etc.. but if i follow them or not, i really dunno..
8. i love packing things... gifts, household objects, clothes, packing for overnite journey.. just love them... but unpack them, sorry i aint no game.. u gotta do that..
9. i find babies way too cute.. but only to an extent.. i cant bear the naughty unruly ones... i get pretty hyper wen they go outta hand... :-|
10. i am obsessed with my hair... i love to preen it every nite as if it is Lion's mane.. well heck IT IS...

Currently, i am Obsessed with Danny,  Chicken Momos, Sleeping, Panchaali and Manu samhita lately... Lolzzz.. i have been asked asked to list down 5 of my obsessions by Phoenix and this is d eternal list.. :-D

i am lurking in blogsville since July 07... my initial blog page isn't public anymore.. and i have so much crap lying there waiting to see daylights... i get blog ideas at most odd times including while on bed watching TV, while riding the elevator, while sitting on the commode etc... i instantly store the keyword in my mobile drafts section (that's outbox for the uninitiated).. i once tot of doing a post a day routine for a yr... but lot many obstacles came over to disrupt that... neva mind.. i am still here..

i am a BIG foodie... ppl have strong mis-conceptions given my near zero size figure but thats becoz of something else.. i eat everything that i fancy... ranging from tasteless bland diet food to baby formula to exotic meat to fattening potatoes and cheese.... if thats edible it goes inside me...  my colleagues tease me for being on an eternal diet and recommend taking my diet plan to my buddy M...M sums it all in not so many words, "if i take her diet chart, i'll end up being double the size wat i am now!" :-P

any and every form of it... i just shimmy around at my place.. had started learning Bharatnatyam as early as age 8... learning forms of western for past one year.. i love hip-hoping the Best... wud love to learn Tap dancing especially after seeing a contestant of "So u think u can Dance" go tapping arnd to the beats of "Way I are" - Timbaland... Man we did freestyle Jazz on that.. i never tot Tap dancing on it..

anything that printed on a paper and is bound by a cover qualifies as a book for me.. hating a Genre doesn't stop me from reading it.. i reserve my comments till i finish it... same goes for movies and my foodie habit... i still remember d first book my Papa got for me... now i have a huge collection.. i realised this while shifting house last month... every surface was filled with books and while unpacking i dound books stashed away by me at unlikely places.. a book tot long lost emerged from my utensils carton.. :-P

i know i have a long way to go... but watever i do, i just love 'em all... somehow learning the techniques from someone else feels fake.. to me clicking is mainly wat ur heart thinks... i have been known to click pics using my Dad's Point n shoot during my chilhood.. the results are a treasure which my father denies to share with me.. and i don't share with him , wat i  click now-a-days.. Tit for tat u see :-P

CN strikes again.. this time to write 25 random facts, goals or quirks about me... he he he,, its gonna be a tough job given everything abt this Rat is a random Fact, Goal or a quirk... :-D ok Here we go...

1. errrmmm just the first point and i am stuck... umm ok... i have a huge collection of fur dolls... most of them are stored back at home in big cardboard cartons.. i have abt ten off them here... and i have named each one of them.. the biggest is Brandy, then we have Scotch, Talli, Rum, Gin, Peki, Fluffy, Puggy, Snuggles and Shri... 
2. i hate reading Pirated books.. d print, d ugly smell and missing pages... everything.. i prefer the mint fresh original books and don't mind signing off a fortune on them...
3. Given the big foodie i am, i can go on without food for utmost 3 days, before passing out... i crave for food only wen restricted by my Doctor..
4. i call all my close ones as Bacha or Beta... so if i call u so, take it for granted that i love u...
5. i don't maintain slam books or address books... 1 from school and 1 from college are the only beings i am connected to.. i dunno the atha-patha of anyone else.. and i don't regret that...
6. i love anything Blue!!!
7. i hate being stereotyped.. anyone making fun of me being a Tamilian can prepare themselves for war... there ain't no escape...
8. i wrote my first poetry, prize winning piece, at the age of 10.. Fortunately i don't pen poetry any more... :-)
9. i am completely addicted to google... i check anything and everything over google before opening my mouth and proving my moronic self... 
10. i have set routine for every day life.. even a minor disrupt will freak me out... that means even if i wke up at 6 am instead of 5 45 am, means u r bound to hear abuses,clangs and bangs...
11. i had my first e-mail id at d age of 14... i still maintain it.. the treasures, it preserves in its inbox, still has me in splits...
    
12. i love cooking for others.. if i invite u for lunch expect a four course meal but confirm as soon as i invite..or else ur lunch stands canceled...
13. My language gets rather colorful wen i get aggressive... eventhough very few understand the expletives i utter, my near ones understand my tone and close their ears... :-D
14. i am not into mobiles that much.. a basic instrument that receives calls and texts is enuf for me.. the Samsung SGH - C170 model, i am carrying for a year and half now is sufficient enuf for me.. this contradicts the Rat-during-college-days, who changed her mobile every 6 months...
15. i have 10 more points to go and i already have a bloggers block.. :-D i wanted to become a Archeologist, Artist, a Doctor and a Neurologist... i am a Leather Technologist now working on the management side toiling with Business Models... i know i know not my choice.. but i love this more than wat i wanted to become...
16. i am rather addicted to Top-chef and So u think u can Dance Series... Dance routines i can easily practice.. but copying the Top-chef recipes usually end as disasters...
17. i haven't updated my gadjets for 2 years now... i still carry the same 4 GB Nano iPod, 1 GB RAM Laptop, 1 GB pen drive.... i feel obsolete sometimes but i am a lazy bummer and wont be updating them for eons to come..
18. i love my Pink bicycle, Camilla... i had a Grey bicycle, Diana during college... a freak stole it from my college shed one night... @!$#@%$
19. i am agnostic... i visit temples, churches and every spiritual adda... but to have me pray to them u ll have to bribe me with a life time supply of Chola Batura...
20. i hate watching news on TV... given the condition of news reporting in recent times i ll rather stick to my newspapers..
21. i love throwing Random acts of Kindness around me... ppl love my surprises more than me... ;-D 
22. i am anti-social to social networking yet maintain an Orkut account and 20sb page as Kartz pointed out today morning..
23. i care very less abt my blog birthdays and blog milestones... but i love wen others celebrate it...
24. yay only two more to go... yipee.... My dressing sense completely reflects my nature... its always a medley of colors over an enzyme washed jeans... i am least bothered abt the raise and cut of my jean.. i have practically grown in this pair of jean given i am owning it for some 8 yrs now...
25. Finally!!!!! i have had quirky names of called a Police, buji, Bag, Lightening, Shatabdi Express etc..  but D Rat sticks to me since my class Tenth.. we were a gang of girls calling ourselves "Elees Club"(the Rat Gang) and i was the Head Rat... :-D now u know the secret...  

 Though i wudnt like imposing the tag on anyone, i wud love to hear from Vasu, Nachi, Roshan, Anki, Tunafish, The Pink Orchid and Chriz....

Close brushes with death/danger :

Me met with an accident during my 12th std.. a racing bike came on the wrong side struck my Trendy that was parked.. unfortunately i was perched on it facing the opposite side... my back head got a serious injury and was taken to hospital immediately... My doc says i went into coma.. but till date i remember the proceedings as if i saw myself, as if in a outside spectator.. When i described wat and all i saw to the doc, he immediately ordered a through check of my brain.. he freaked out wen i recited the names of all d nurses who took care of me during my coma.. That was my close brush with death.... Now u know d reason for my permanent brain damage, i suppose.. he he he

1. Attend a day long Lecture by Mr. SM... instant death
2. Cross d road on a peak hour in my present city... death guaranteed
3. Riding a bicycle against a fast approaching Train... u judge
4. Keep myself away from my iPod, Mobile, Laptop and Internet for a day... 2 days guarantee or else all d four ll be confiscated till death
5. Eat food at my canteen three times a day for 3 days... Slow poison but very effective
